Greetings wedding guests/invitees!
We hope you had a nice holiday and still fit into your wedding suit/dress after your respective celebrations. With our wedding weekend less than three weeks away, we have a couple updates below.
First off, the wedding day plans have not changed (we are still getting married!). But the Friday evening festivities and Sunday’s plans have changed a little. For those of you playing along at home, please read below for details.
A note about the weather: The weather forecast for Playa del Rey is currently calling for mid- to high-60s and mostly sunny the week of the wedding; however, evenings can be chilly (low 50s, which may seem like shorts weather to some of you travelling from the north). Weather.com is a fairly accurate website for forecasts; punch in ZIP code 90293 if you’re checking from home. The 10-day outlook for Playa del Rey is located at http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/90293?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared.
FRIDAY, JAN. 15
We are no longer meeting at our condo, but we ARE still bowling. (You didn’t think you’d get out of it THAT easy, did you?!). Here’s what’s happening: We are hosting cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres at The Custom Hotel’s poolside Hopskotch lounge from 5-7 pm. The Hopskotch lounge is in the pool area across from the hotel lobby. Afterward, we will walk over to the bowling alley located next door to the hotel. This means that you will need no transportation on Friday once you arrive at the hotel. (The hotel has an airport shuttle). Friday evening’s dress code is casual; chinos and jeans are perfect.
SATURDAY, JAN. 16
The wedding-day plans remain the same. The wedding ceremony is at 1 pm with the reception immediately following.
Transportation: You will need to find your own way to CafĂ© del Rey for the wedding and reception. On Friday, we will distribute maps to guide you. If you will not have access to a car, please let us know and we’ll try to find you an open spot in another guest’s car. Cab fare from the hotel should be approximately $12 each way.
Post-wedding plans: The reception will end around 4:30 pm. We are inviting our guests to join us (no-host) around 6 pm at The Hopskotch poolside lounge to relax.
SUNDAY, JAN. 17
We will be attending 10 am Mass at Loyola Marymount University. Guests are invited to join us. We will meet in the hotel lobby at 9:30 am and form a car caravan. The chapel is a 5-minute drive from the hotel, but we will need to go over as a group as the campus is difficult to navigate and access may be restricted to those carrying Loyola IDs. Mass should be over by 11 am.
Afterward, we will likely lead an excursion to a local attraction (the Getty Museum, the Venice Boardwalk or another spot) and stop for lunch (location TBD). For those not attending Mass, we will meet you in the hotel lobby at noon. For those of you without cars, you may be able to find a seat in another guest's car.
MONDAY, JAN. 18
Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There are no activities scheduled, but let us know if you are staying in town and would like suggestions on things to see. MKL, Jr. Day is a school holiday for L.A. public schools and most colleges in L.A. This means traffic will be unusually light and should make it an ideal day to go sight-seeing.

RSVP'ing
Hi folks. There have been some issues with the RSVP feature. So if you haven't RSVP'd to us yet, please email kristibrian2010@gmail.com and you'll be added to the VIP list! Plus, the next 10 people to RSVP will receive a set of free steak knives! (Actually, no, but you will receive email updates with new and exciting details as they arise.) And if that doesn't work, you can do the old-fashioned thing and call me: 310-902-956-zero. Thanks!
